Erected in 1960, the stone memorial commemorates the freedom fighters of both the 1848 and 1956 revolutions. Later, a traditional Hungarian totem pole (kopjafa) and a stone cross was added to the structure, commemorating the victims of the Revolution and Freedom Fight of 1956 and the first wooden cross that was erected on the site in 1957.
