Budapest Park is located on the shore of Lake Ontario in Toronto’s Sunnyside neighborhood. The most important feature of the park is the Freedom for Hungary monument. Designed by Victor Tolgesy and erected in 1966, the monument commemorated the 10th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight of 1956. In 2008, the Canadian Rakoczi Foundation gifted two totem poles (kopjafa) to the community, that are placed on each side of the monument.
